In early 1900, college football was in trouble:
too many injuries, too many deaths. Pres. Roosevelt took action calling college presidents to the White House.
Few practical jokes end up on the national news. This joke at Creighton University (Omaha) certainly deserved national attention.
Teased by Phoenix high school students at a football game yelling "Criminals, Criminals", the Yuma students taking classes in a prison eventually embraced their new name.
