Oh no!  Is he trying to outrun the freight train to get to the crossing?

   I don't believe it ... the freight train missed him by 10 feet!

Inbound to Chicago trains arriving on the South track stopping or slowing down to let passengers on Platform

​to cross tracks to get to Platform 2

​

Inbound trains on the South track NOT stopping or slowing down causing passengers to miss their trains.
