From Flagstaff, AZ - accessible by the Amtrak's Southwest Chief or by car from Phoenix - take the morning shuttle or drive your rental car 30 minutes to Williams and hop on the Grand Canyon Railroad.
Spend several hours at the one and only Grand Canyon before returning by train to Williams.
Return to Flagstaff and enjoy a good dinner.
The next day drive your rental car for 1 hour and 20 minutes through majestic Sedona on your way to Clarksdale.
There the Verde Canyon Railroad awaits you to take you on a 40 mile 4 hour train excursion through the Verde Canyon. Visit nearby Jerome a famous ghost town.
